I have been stitching...

and I have ORTs as evidence. This is the extras from Egyptian Garden, one sock and the start of a new bracelet.

New Bracelet

All I can say is that the bracelets are addictive, and a great way to use up extra items I have in the beading stash. This one's for sale on Etsy.

Eat dessert first!

Well... maybe not... But the latest cake creation from Cook's Country had me so intrigued that I decided that I'd give it a go. They called it a Stained Glass cake, with bits of Jello surrounded by white cream. It turned out pretty well (better than I expected) and tasted pretty good as well. I wish I was a better food stylist - my pictures never turn out the way that I hope they do.

Egyptian Garden Update and "Helper"

First of all, Happy Victoria Day to all in Canada - it's so nice to have a long weekend, even though it's grey and dreary here.

I finished the centre blue cross of "Egyptian Garden", and have all but 2 birds done of the next border. It's coming along quickly, although not as quickly as I might like.

I did some laundry this week, and as I was putting it away, I had a helper who came along to check the softness of my towels. It must have been soft enough for her, as she settled right in to the linen closet.

New Sock Happy Dance

I finished the pair of socks I was working on. Lauralness had gifted me with some of Colinette's Jitterbug in a blog candy draw, and it seemed perfect for a pair of socks. Not wanting to have idle hands after finishing, I made the trek to my local yarn store and picked up some new hand dyeds. Both are being dyed in British Columbia, so are relatively local. The colours she had in were simply yummy. There were two skeins that I couldn't put down, so they both came home with me.

New Bracelet - Alhambra Waters

I did the alternate (non-beaded) centre on Alhambra Garden, which meant that I had a ton of delica beads left over. And not wanting to waste the beads, I made a bracelet out of the extra beads that I had. Of course, it took a lot more than the 4 or 5 grams of delicas that were provided for the centre to make the bracelet, but I'm still so pleased with the overall result.

Thank You!!

A few weeks ago, Lauralness had a draw for a ball of sock yarn, and I was so excited when she told me I won. I received the package in the mail last Friday. Of course, when I was trying to take pictures of all of the gorgeous yarn, I had a little `kitty helper` who thought that she also needed a picture. I managed to start into it immediatley (who waits on good things!), and also have progress pictures of the first sock, plus the toe of the second. The yarn is Colinette`s Jitterbug in Copper Beach. It`s *so* nice to knit with, and I may have to buy another couple of skeins....

New Beaded Bracelet Happy Dance

Here's a picture of the latest beaded bracelet - it's going to Mom for Mother's day. She wanted something in black and silver, so I hope that she likes it. I incorporated the new Swarovski crystal pearls into this bracelet, and I think that they worked out well.
