Far too Canadian...

I'm really curious what the rest of the world must think of Canada right now - tomorrow, the head of Hockey Canada and hockey officials are being summoned to parliament to defend the choice they made for captian of Canada's hockey team. Apparently the current captian made some remarks about French officials a few years back, which got some politicians upset, and so now the whole thing is being taken to parliament.

Mind you, in the last Olympics we let a guy play who'd killed a team-mate in a car accident, and allowed another player who'd just about ended an opponent's career with an illegal punch. But apparently we've run out of things to discuss in parliament, and so we're terribly worried about who's going to be in charge of the hockey team. And so tomorrow, Canada will discuss hockey in parliament.

Sigh....

Well we dont hear anything about Canada here in the UK...which annoys my Canadian husband greatly! I sent him the link to this post...he hadn't heard about it yet but was off to look it up on the web!

Well ya know. I hadn't heard, but it just seems as though the country to your south is rubbing off on you. I suppose steriods is an important issue, but I'm not sure it deserves to go to congress.

lol guess it gives the politicians something to talk about - after all politics must be pretty boring for them.

It's good to know I'm not the only one who thinks the whole thing is absurd!

I mean really, don't they have *better* things to do than discuss Team Canada's choice of captain???

Nice to see our tax dollars at work! (NOT!)
